In reply would say that it is unfortunate that we are not done haying. So that I might bestow some attention to you while you stop at York. It will take us between one and two weeks now to finish our haying and as our crew is composed of a certain kind of material it is necessary that I should be on hand all the time when at work; Consequently should be unable to see or be with you much of the time as I might if I [illegible] were otherwise. Owing to my lameness and the floods we have had recently we have been [illegible] in our work. If we shouldn't see each other much of the time now, I propose to meet you at Boston some time this Fall, when it might convene you to do so.
