Handwritten letter dated April 2, 1873 from Andrew Leonard Emerson in Chicago to his mother in York. He writes about how a connection was missed and therefore he must stay another night in Chicago. He also writes that he will be going to "Saint Francisco" as well as for his brother to return "'Picked Lines" Transcription: My Darling Mother, We missed our connection here today. Therefore have to stop over until 10am tomorrow. Had a very pleasant time with Ed & Lucy, they joined us at Albany. Hope to be in Saint Francisco Tuesday. Wont you get Frank to return Chs. McLucas Picked Lines, they are up over the shed. Love to all In haste, Your Affec. Son, Leonard. |
