Scope & Content |
Bond document dated October 1, 1774 between Jotham Moulton of York and Samuel Preble of York for the sum of eighty pounds to be paid by Samuel to Jotham. The condition being that Jeremiah Moulton of York, father of Jotham, sold twenty-five acres of land of his Beedle Farm in York to Samuel that is decribed in the deed. As collateral and further security of the warranty to Samuel, Jotham agrees that in the case that the deed at any time prove ineffectual to secure the lands and premesis conveyed to Samuel, then Jotham will take it upon himself to warrant the premesis to Samuel and perform all the promises on the part of Jeremiah in the deed. Jotham will stand to abide by and perform the said agreement on his part to secure the lands for Samuel according to the true meaning of the obligation. Witnessed by Daniel Moulton, Dorcas Moulton.
