Inscription on the back reads, "Dad + His mother" and "Samuel Preble". The photograph features Samuel wearing a stiff white collared shirt and patterned necktie. He is wearing a darker three-piece suit unbuttoned, and a pocket watch. Samuel has short haircut and large mustache. Mary E. (Grant) Preble is wearing a long striped dress with large, loose sleeves, high stiff color and flower tucked into the blouse. Hair is parted in the middle and tucked into a low bun. The background of the photo is 38 Old Scituate Road, the Preble Farm. The house and a horse drawn buggy is located in the background. |
