Description |
York Christian Church commemorative dinner plate. Scalloped edges. White plate with softly scalloped and molded rim. Rim printed with metallic gold scrollwork. In the center of the plate is a green transfer print depicting the church flanked by trees. Under the image, printed in black, is the text: "The York Christian Church / 150th Anniversary / 1808 to 1958 / The Church was organized on May 23, / 1808. The New Testament to be the only / rule of government in the church as to / faith and practice to God and each other. / The first church building was built / around 1820 and stood at the junction of/the Cider Hill Road and US Route 1. The present parsonage was built in 1867 and 1894 and / the church between 1890 and 1894 at the / junction of Organug Road and York Street, / York, Maine."
